Q1. Where can I find the Koo app?
“Koo: Know what’s happening!” is available on PlayStore for android and “Koo: Connect with People!” is available on the iOS app store accordingly. We are also available for “PC” users at www.Kooapp.com. Come! Let’s Koo together.
Q2. What is the Koo app?
Koo app is a homegrown micro-blogging platform where you can express your thoughts and opinions and also connect with your friends, family, Koo community members and some of the most prominent people. Koos aims to empower people to express their thoughts in their respective regional languages of their choice and stay connected through a quick exchange of Koos.
Q3. What’s a Koo?
A Koo may contain text, photos, GIFS, audio, video, or a link. To Koo click on the icon or the “What’s on your mind” tab at the top of the feed’s timeline to voice your thoughts and opinions.
Steps on how to Koo:-
Step 1: Type your Koo of up to 500 characters in the “What’s on your mind” tab at the top of your Feed timeline, or click the icon above the navigation bar.
Step 2: In a Koo, you can include up to 10 photos, 1 GIF, 1 video or a link along with a comment.
Step 3: Click the icon in the top right corner to post the Koo to your followers in public.
Q4. What is a Re-Koo?
When you share a Koo posted by someone, publicly with your followers on the Koo app, it is known as a “Re-Koo”. This is a great way to pass along information such as news and the latest interesting and trending topics on the Koo app. You have the option to add your comments or you can choose not to comment and share the Koo accordingly. While re-Kooing, your re-Koo or commented re-Koo will reference the Koo you are sharing. When someone replies to your commented re-Koo, the Koo creator of the original Koo will not be added to the conversation. If you want to include the Koo creator of the original Koo, you will need to mention their user handle.
In addition to sharing others’ Koos on the Koo app, you can re-Koo or Koo with a Comment on your own Koo. This function is particularly useful when you want to re-post one of your older Koos because it is trending again, or re-Koo a comment from another Koo, to make sure all of your followers see it.
Scenario 1: Re-Koo without a Comment:-
Step 1: You can find the “re-Koo” icon below a post or a comment.
Step 2: Click the “re-Koo” icon and select “No” in the pop-up notification.
Step 3: This re-Koo will show on your main profile page under the “Re-Koo” tab.
Scenario 2: Re-Koo with a Comment:-
Step 1: Click the “re-Koo” icon and select “Yes” in the pop-up notification.
Step 2: Please add your comments accordingly.
Step 3: Click the icon. This re-Koo with comments will be shown in your public feeds and your followers will be able to see them.
Q5. What is sharing a Koo?
With the “Sharing” option you can share a Koo with the public in your feeds for your followers to see. Share the link of the Koo privately with a friend on other social media platforms Direct Message, you can also share the link of the Koo with your contacts via email or SMS.
Scenario 1: How to share a Koo on Koo app:-
Step 1: You can find the “Share” icon at the bottom of the Koo.
Step 2: Click the “Share” icon and select “Koo app” in the pop-up menu.
Step 3: You can add a comment or proceed without adding a comment.
Step 4: Click on the icon in the top right corner to post the Koo.
Scenario 2: How to share a Koo via SMS and Email?
Step 1: Click on the “Share” icon.
Step 2: From the pop-up menu, select your means of communication “E-mail” or “Message” accordingly.
Step 3: Add the contact details of the person and you can now share the Koo URL with your contact via “E-mail” or “SMS” accordingly.
Scenario 3: How to share a Koo on Instagram:-
You can also privately share a Koo URL link with your friends on “Instagram” via Direct Message.
Step 1: Click on the “Share” icon.
Step 2: Choose “Instagram” from the pop-up menu.
Step 3: Click “Send” (the Koo URL is now shared with your contact on Instagram via “Direct Message”).
Scenario 4: Can I share a Koo on “Whatsapp”:-
Yes, you can now share your Koo URL link via “Whatsapp”. Follow the steps below to share your favourite Koo with your friends and family:
Step 1: Click the “Whatsapp” icon.
Step 2: Select the contact you want to share the Koo URL link.
Step 3: You can preview the Koo URL link and add a message to your “Whatsapp”.
Step 4: Click “Send”.
Q6. How to take a photo and upload it from your photo gallery?
Uploading “Photos” is a more entertaining and relatable way to share Koos with your friends & followers. You can snap a photo or upload a saved image by following the steps below:
Scenario 1: How to click a Photo and Koo It:-
Step 1: Click on the ‘+‘ icon or “What’s on your mind” tab in the feed’s timeline.
Step 2: Click the “Gallery” icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Select the “Camera” icon in the popup menu to click a photo.
Step 4: You can add a comment in the “What’s on your mind” tab or proceed without adding a comment accordingly.
Step 5: Click the “Arrow-Icon or Next” to post.
Note: – You can click and share one photo at a time.
Scenario 2: How to upload an image from my gallery:-
Step 1: Click on the ‘+‘ icon or “What’s on your mind” tab in the feed’s timeline.
Step 2: Click the “Gallery” icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Select the image or images you want to upload. If you have selected more than one image to upload, click the “Next” icon at the bottom.
Step 4: You can preview your selected images and add a comment.
Step 5: Click on the “Arrow-Icon or Next” to post.
Note: You can choose up to 10 images to post at a time. While uploading images from your phone’s photo gallery.
Scenario 3: How to upload a GIF:-
Step 1: Click on the ‘+‘ icon or “What’s on your mind” tab in the feed’s timeline.
Step 2: Click the “Gallery” icon on the bottom left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Select the “GIF” and preview it accordingly.
Step 4: Click the “Save” icon at the bottom of the screen to save the previewed/edited GIF.
Step 5: You can add a comment in “What’s on your mind” or proceed without adding a comment.
Step 6: Click on the “Arrow-Icon or Next” to post.
Note: You can only upload 1 GIF at a time and this feature is only available on iOS devices.
Q7. Is there a “Voice To Text” option on Koo app?
“Yes”, we do have a “voice-to-text feature” on Koo app. Here you can speak in the language you want to Koo in, after clicking the “Voice to Text” icon and speaking into the mic. This will appear in text format on the “What’s on your mind” tab, You can preview the text and make final changes to your Koo, before posting it.
How to use the “Voice To Text” feature:-
Step 1: Click on the ‘+‘ icon or “What’s on your mind” tab.
Step 2: Click the “Human” icon to activate Voice to Text option.
Step 3: Speak your mind in the device mic, this will appear in text format in the “What’s on your mind” tab. You can preview the text and make the necessary changes accordingly.
Step 4: Click on the “Arrow-Icon or Next” to post.
Q8. Can a Koo be Edited?
“Yes”, you can edit the Koos you have already posted. We understand there could be a spelling mistake or you need to make some corrections to your Koo. Follow the below-mentioned steps to edit your Koo.
Steps to “Edit” a Koo:–
Step 1: Select the “Koo” you want to “Edit”.
Step 2: Click on the “2 dots” in the top right corner of the Koo.
Step 3: Click the “Edit Koo” icon and make the necessary changes.
Step 4: Click on the “Arrow-Icon or Next” to post.
Note: Once the Koo is edited and posted, the same will reflect on “Koo: Know what’s happening!” On Android. “Koo: Connect with People!” for iOS and www.Kooapp.com.
Q9. What do the other tabs in the feed bar do?
Koo app not only empowers people by providing a platform to voice their thoughts and opinions, but we also have an active community that engages in discussions with regard to various topics. You can stay updated on the current events by visiting the tabs in the feeds bar.
Here is a brief summary of all the tabs in the feeds bar:-

Q10. What are the different types of Themes available on the Koo app?
We have three themes on The Koo app: Dark, Light, and System.
Follow the below steps to change your Theme:
Step 1: Go to “Settings”.
Step 2: Select the“Theme” from the options given (Dark, Light, and System).
Step 3: The selected theme will apply instantly as soon as the option is selected.
Q11. How to find people to follow?
In Koo app you can search for accounts by their user handle by using the Koo search look through the results and follow the accounts you like, scroll through their profile to see what they Koo about, you can also import friends from your phonebook contacts, invite friends via email and SMS by sharing your profile link, you can visit our “People” tab to see suggestions made by Koo app.
Q12.What is “follow”?
When you follow someone it means you’ve chosen to subscribe to a user’s Koo updates and you’ll be able to see them on your following list and every time they post a new Koo, it will appear on your Koo feeds. The person you follow can send you Direct messages also.
Here are the steps to follow:
Scenario 1: Follow user by going to their profile
Step 1: Go to the user’s profile you want to follow.
Step 2: Click on the “Follow” icon on the right corner of the profile.
Step 3: You are now following the user and you can see their Koo updates in your feed timeline and their account will be added to the tab in your profile.
Scenario 2: Follow Users from the posted Koo.
Step 1: Go to the Koo of the user you wish to follow.
Step 2: Click the “Follow” icon on the top right side corner of the posted Koo.
Step 3: You are now following the user and you can see their Koo updates in your feed timeline and their account will be added to the tab in your profile.
Q13. How to unfollow?
Keep your Koo account happening by following the accounts that match your interest and get quality Koos in your feeds. If you’re not into the Koos a user is sharing you can unfollow them to stop seeing them on your feeds timeline. You can do this to maintain your following list on your account or to undo an accidental follow.
Here is how you can unfollow a user:-
Scenario 1: Unfollow the user by going to the account.
Step 1: Go to the user account.
Step 2: Click on “Tick mark” icon.
Step 3: Click “YES” in the pop-up notification to unfollow them.
Scenario 2: Un-follow account from a Koo.
Step 1: Click on the “2 dots” on the top right side corner of the Koo.
Step 2: Click “Following”.
Step 3: Click “YES” in the pop-up notification to unfollow them.
Q14. How to search for a User on Kooapp?
You can search for a fellow Kooer by selecting the “Search” icon at the bottom of the feeds page.
Here are the steps to search for a user:–
Step 1: Click the Search Icon at the bottom of the feeds page.
Step 2: Type the User handle in the search bar.
Step 3: Select the user profile you’re looking for from the search results.
Q15. How to see who is following me?
Followers are people who want to stay updated with your Koo updates. Koo sends you a notification when you have a new follower. You can find your followers by following the below-mentioned steps:-
Step 1: Go to your profile page.
Step 2: Click “Followers”.
Step 3: You can now see the list of people who follow you.
Q16. How to see who I’m following?
Once you click on the icon on someone’s account, you start following them. To see the list of the people you’re following, click on the “Following” icon on your profile page.
Step 1: Click on the “Profile photo” in the top left corner of the feed page.
Step 2: Click on the “Following” icon on the profile page.
Step 3: You can now see the list of people you are “Following”.
Q17. How to block a follower?
Block is a feature that helps users control how they interact with other accounts on Koo app. This feature helps our community members in restricting specific accounts from contacting them, seeing their Koos, and following them.
Follow the below-mentioned steps to “Block” a user:-
Step 1: Go to the account you want to “Block”.
Step 2: Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the account.
Step 3: Click on “Block” and select “OK” in the pop-up notification.
Note: Once you “Block” an account you will stop seeing posts from the user, contacting them, seeing their Koos, and following them.
Q18. How to Manage Blocked Users?
Koo makes it easy to view and manage your list of Blocked users. Please follow the below-mentioned steps to manage your blocked user:
Step 1: Click on the “3 dots” in the top right corner of the account.
Step 2: Go to “Settings”.
Step 3: Go to Manage Blocked Users.
Step 4: You can now view and manage the users blocked by you.
Q19. How to delete multiple Koos at the same time?
Currently, we don’t have this feature available on the Koo app. You can only delete Koos one at a time.
Q20.How to Delete a Koo?
You can delete any of your own Koos from the Koo app at any time. Once a Koo is deleted the same will reflect on all the other platforms Koo is available on, such as www.Kooapp.com, “Koo: Connect with People!” on iOS, and “Koo: Know what’s happening!” for the android Playstore.
Steps to “Delete” a Koo:-
Step 1: Click the 2 Dots on the right corner of the Koo.
Step 2: Select Delete Koo.
Step 3: Click “YES” in the pop-up menu.
Q21. Why are we not getting notification for DM?
We are sorry for the trouble. Our team is already aware of the issue and is working on a fix. We will keep you notified in the app once the issue is resolved.
Q22. What to do if the feed is not updating?
Feed might not be updated because of the following reasons:
(a) Feeds take a few minutes to load if you have not logged in for a few days. Please restart the app once and the feeds will load.
(b) Feed is also dependent on the activity of the profile one follows. In case you are following fewer profiles we request you to follow more prominent personalities, media houses, people of your interest or topic of your choice. There are also possibilities of the feed not uploading if you follow someone who doesn’t post regularly. Hence, we would suggest you manage your profile by following active community members on Koo. If the issue persists for more than 24 hours. Kindly write to us at redressal@Kooapp.com along with your user handle and screen recording of the issue.
Q23. How to download images from Koo?
Koo now makes it easy to download images from Koos posted on the Koo app. Follow the steps mentioned below to download images accordingly.
Step 1: Click on the Koo with the image you want to download.
Step 2: Click on the Download icon in the top right corner to download the image.
Q24. What to do if my followers are not increasing?
We would like to inform you that a user’s followings, likes, trending hashtags, comments, re-Koos, or reach of their Koos is the reflection of the community’s interest and Koo app is in no position to increase, decrease or alter any of the above-mentioned information. Q25. Why is my Koos not shown in trending hashtags?
Koos in trending hashtags is shown on a reaction basis and not on how recently a Koo was posted. For a better user experience, we recommend you post a minimum of 2 quality Koos a day, with the current trending hashtags.
Q26. How to get more engagement on Koos?
To get more engagement on your Koos we request you to post Koos other users can engage in and be a part of the conversation.
Q27. Where to get further updates after applying for an Eminence account?
We have a dedicated team for eminence. Q28. How to Self-verify?
The Koo app Self- verification is a feature for our Koo users to be able to self-verify themselves. This feature is available only to Indian citizens holding pre-selected government-issued ID Aadhar. Q29. Why can’t I change my Phone Number and email address?
In consideration of Security and Privacy Risk, we limit users from changing their Login details with an alternate contact number and email address. To change the registered credentials please write to us at redressal@Kooapp.com. Our team will be happy to assist you.
Q30. Why am I not able to change professional and qualification details?
This is a known issue and our team is working on a fix for the glitch. We will get back with an update in the app via the bell icon, once the issue is resolved.
Q31. When I click on a notification that has a group of notifications in them it takes me to another notification why?
There are different types of notifications in the Koo app. This concern is related to group notification. When you click on a link to a group notification that has notification of multiple Koos, the link will take you to the feed page. To see the concerned Koo you’re looking for you can scroll down, once you click on the group notification link.
Q32. Unable to remove my profile picture?
We currently don’t have this feature available at the moment. However, if we have this feature available in the future we will keep you informed in the app via notification.
Q33. Can you delete messages on Direct Message?
You can delete the messages in your Direct Message. However this message will be deleted only for you, other people involved in the conversation can still see it.
Q34. What formats of videos can I upload and up to what size?
You can upload up to 512 MB of video files on the Koo app. You can upload the following video formats:- 3gp, mpg, Mpeg, MPV, mp4, m4v, Avi, WMV, MOV, qt, Flv, SWF, WebM, m4a, m4v.
Q35. My Koo account is deleted, but is still visible in the search bar?
This is a known technical glitch, our team is already working on a fix. We will keep you notified once the issue is resolved in the app.

This tab consists of profiles categorised by various professions and categories. Want to get interesting updates you can go to Interesting accounts. Want to know profiles that the community finds engaging? Go on to the popular section.
Q3. Trending
This tab is a collection of all the highest engaging profiles and Koo that the community absolutely loves. These are Koos that are regular and are relevant to the community.
Q4. Videos
You can find interesting videos or stay relevant to today’s happenings through this tab.
Q5. Polls
Get interesting insights from individual polls or organisations polls. We found this tab to be a treasure trove of insights.
Q6. Covid
Right from receiving plasma donations to getting food to the doorstep of the infected, this tab has given some life saving updates for many. Right from health professionals to individuals doing their bit for the infected, this tab consists of many profiles from all over India.
Q7. New
Entering a new platform can seem daunting at first. But we have seen many friendships begin from among new joiners encouraging each other to a very positive experience made by existing users.
In addition to these tabs we have a tab based on current affairs like Olympics, TNPL, Sports etc.
Q1. How to Edit Profile?
To edit your Profile you can follow the below mentioned steps:-

To upload your profile photo you can either snap a photo or upload a photo or image from your phone gallery accordingly by clicking “camera” icon. Feel free to add a frame for your profile photo by clicking the “+” icon below the profile photo, choose the appropriate frame for you from the options available.
Q2. How to add a second account?
If you have more than one account on Koo app, It’s simple to add and access them on your Koo account. Please follow the steps mentioned below to add a secondary account.
Step 1: Go to your profile and click on the 3 dots on the top right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Go to “Settings” .
Step 3: Go to “Manage account” .
Step 4: Enter your phone number or email address to get an OTP for your second account.
Step 5: Enter the OTP and you’re good to go.
To select between your accounts. Click on the profile photo on the top right corner of the screen and choose the account accordingly. You will also find the Profile and Settings option in the options tray.
Q3. What are the Language preferences on Koo app?
Koo is one of the very few apps that allows you to express your thoughts and opinions in your regional language. So far we support 10 languages in India, 1 for Nigeria & Brazil with many more languages coming soon. Follow the below mentioned steps to change your language accordingly.
Step 1: Go to your profile page and click on the 3 dots on the top right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Go to “Settings” .
Step 3: Select “Language” .
Step 4: Choose from the available Languages :- .
Note: The language you choose here will be the primary language of your account. Any Koo’s posted will be shared with the concerned community accordingly.
Q4. How to Delete my account?
Looking for a breather from the Koo app. We understand. It’s good to take a break sometimes from everything happening around us and if you are considering a permanent account deletion, you can follow the steps mentioned below to Deactivate ( Temporarily suspend your account) or Delete your account permanently.
Step 1: Go to your profile page and click on the 3 dots on the top right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Go to “Settings”.
Step 3: Click on “Delete”.
Step 4: Read the account deletion information and click “Delete” to proceed with your request.

Q1. How to report a Koo?
You can report a Koo that is in violation of the Koo Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Koo policy.
You can report a Koo for the following violations:- Hate Speech and Discrimination, Religiously Offensive Content, Terrorism and Extremism, Dangerous, Violent Content ( Death or Injury), Graphic, Obscene or Sexual Content, Provoking Koo/Comment, Misinformation and Fake news, Malicious Programmes, URL or Code, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Not Interested/Not Relevant, or Something else.
Step 1: Click on the 2 Dots on the right corner of the Koo you want to report.
Step 2: Select “Report Koo” .
Step 3: Choose your reason from the option accordingly.
Note: A Koo can be reported only once. If you try to report the same Koo more than once you will receive an error message, because the Koo has already been reported and is in queue for further investigation. We have a dedicated moderation team who will moderate the reported Koos in 30 minutes from the time the Koo was reported. If the reported Koo is violating our community guidelines. Our team will take necessary measures accordingly.
Q2 . How to report a profile?
We at Koo app strive to provide a safe environment where people can feel free to express themselves. If you encounter an abusive user, we want to make it easy for people to report it to us and help us gain better context, while investigating the issues to get them resolved faster.
You can report a user for the following violations: Cyberbullying, Insulting or Intimidating, Shared my or Someone else’s private information, Spamming, Scamming and Phishing, Intellectual Property Infringement, Self Injury or Suicide, Conducts Illegal Activities, Pretending to be me or someone else, Something Else (For Other concerns not mentioned in the list), Not Interested/Not Relevant.
Scenario 1: To report users via Koo posted.
Step 1: Click on the “2 Dots” in the top right corner of the Koo.
Step 2: Click on Report User .
Step 3: Choose your reason for reporting.
Scenario 2: Reporting User from their account.
Step 1: Go to the account you want to Report.
Step 2: Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner of the screen
Step 3: Click on Report User .
Step 4: Select your reason from the options.
Note: We have a dedicated team to moderate the reported users. They will investigate and take necessary measures.
There is constant traffic we receive and there might be a delay from our end due to this. Hence, we request you do the following, while waiting for our response.
Q1. Not getting any Notifications?
A common reason for not receiving notifications is that they may be turned off in the settings. We request you to go to app settings > Notifications and set your preferences. If all the notifications are turned on and you are not receiving notifications we request you to go to phone settings > Notifications > Manage Notifications > Koo app and set the notifications ON.
If the issue persists, kindly mail us at redressal@Kooapp.com along with your User handle and screen recording of the issue, we will do the needful.
Q2. Receiving too many notifications?
We request you to go to app settings > Notifications > and set all your notifications off. If you want to totally stop receiving notifications, we request you to your phone settings > notifications > Koo app and turn off notifications. If the issue persists, kindly mail us at redressal@Kooapp.com along with your user handle and screen recording of the issue, we will look into it accordingly.
Q3. Not able to find Dark Mode?
We request you to update the Koo app to the latest version. Once updated you can find Dark mode in settings > Themes .
Q4. Not getting OTP?
If any situation arises where you do not receive an OTP we request you to reinstall the app. In most cases, this issue will be fixed by reinstalling the app. If the issue persists, kindly mail us at redressal@Kooapp.com along with your User handle and screen recording of the issue, we will look into it accordingly.
Q5. My app hangs while creating a Koo?
This issue can simply be fixed by clearing your cache and cookies of the app. If the issue persists, kindly mail us at redressal@Kooapp.com along with your User handle and screen recording of the issue, we will look into it accordingly.
Q6.Nearby feature not working in my area?
We are aware of the issue, and we are also on course of mapping every area onto our app, rest assured very soon your area will also appear in the app too. Meanwhile, you can also try some workaround:
